The Reverend
Suzanne Paul most recently served the Community Unitarian Universalists in Brighton
(CUUB) as their consulting minister from July, 2000 through October, 2005. She
previously served the Farmington Universalist Unitarian Church (UUCF) in Farmington
Hills, Michigan as their called minister, from July, 1988 through December, 1999.
Rev. Paul is a graduate of Oakland Community College, Wayne State University and
the Humanist Institute, located in New York City. She completed a ten-month internship
at the Ann Arbor Unitarian Universalist Church in Ann Arbor, Michigan under the
supervision of the Rev. Dr. Kenneth W. Phifer. She also has a certificate as a
Pastoral Care Specialist from the Samaritan Counseling Center in Farmington Hills,
Michigan. Active in a number of humanist organizations, Rev. Paul is past
president of the American Humanist Association, and past president of the North
American Committee for Humanism. She has served on the Multi-Cultural, Multi-Racial
Counsel of Farmington/ |
Farmington Hills, and the
Livingston 2001 Diversity
Council in Howell, Michigan. Prior to entering the ministry, Rev.
Paul was the
executive director of the Birmingham Temple , a Humanistic Jewish congregation
located in Farmington Hills, Michigan. A 50+ year resident of Farmington,
Michigan, Rev. Paul is active in a number of community organizations. She has
served on the board of the Downtown Development Association (DDA), the Farmington
Beautification Commission and chaired the Promotions Committee for the Farmington
Main Street Program. She lives in an 1853 home in the historic district of
Farmington. She is married to Charles Paul, an automotive marketing specialist,
and is the mother of three grown children and grandmother to three lively grandsons.
In her leisure time, Rev. Paul enjoys her grandsons, traveling (especially motorcycle
trips with her husband), theater, music, reading, gardening and antiqueing.
Rev. Paul is delighted to be a part of New Hope - and having the opportunity to
continue spreading the "good news" of our congregation.
