New  Hope
Sunday Services: 10:30 AM A Unitarian Universalist Congregation A Welcoming Congregation

At New Hope, all music - whether it be gospel, traditional, spiritual, or contemporary - is integral to the celebration of life service we have each Sunday morning. In the hymns, videos and special music that are chosen for each service, much thought is given to choosing those songs that support the topic being presented that day. It is hoped that the music helps communicate the essence of that week's message and enhances spiritual growth.

New Hope encourages children and adults alike to nurture their musical interests and talents by featuring them as soloists during Special Music at Sunday services. New Hope has enjoyed performances on piano, violin, flute, harp as well as conga drums. Guest soloists from surrounding communities have graced us with their talents as soloists for Sunday services as well as recitals. We have also been honored to host concerts and Sunday morning performances by Ann Arbor's favorite folk-singing duo Gemini.  Laz Slomovits, half of the Gemini duo, has regularly presented us with his musical compositions set to poems of Rumi and Hafiz.

Our Music Director, Debby Tyler, has been the accompanist for Highlander Ways Middle School choir program from 2001-2008. She has also played in numerous musical productions for Community Theatre of Howell and Parker Middle School, and enjoys accompanying vocal and instrumental soloists at recitals and other venues. Debby performs on keyboard with Premier Big Band based out of Howell. She is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University.
